EPUF Executive Secretariat is proud to announce that the works for the second experts Document edited by EPUF have begun. The experts met for their first meeting with the Executive Secretariat team on 29 November 2011.
After the success of the first document, which was widely disseminated in 2010, EPUF is working on another Paper that would analyse from a prospective point of view the role that the University urges to assume in a crisis and changing environment context. Prof. Mohammed Zaher Benabdallah, from Morocco, is the former rector from the Meknes University and professor at the University of Rabat. He is a prominent Higher education policy expert. Prof. Juliane Brach is a German Professor at the University of Copenhaguen and member of GIGA (German Institute of Global and Area Studies). She is an expert of economy and technology in the Middle East Countries and has research on Political science and political economy as well. The team is compound following a geographical and field of study variety criterion.
Prof. Enric Olivé, Executive Secretary of EPUF, attended the IV General Assembly of the EMUNI University, in Lisbon, Portugal on 24 - 25 November. Between 24 and 25 November the University of Lisbon hosted the general assembly of EMUNI University and TETIS conference.
The conference was opened by the speeches from President of EMUNI University Joseph Mifsud; the President of the Lisbon University, António Sampaio and the Deputy Secretary-General for Higher Education of the Union for the Mediterranean, Prof. Ilan Chet.
Marina Vives participated as a keynote speaker at the JISER-MED Project Seminar hold in Amman from 21 to 24 November 2011. EPUF is a main partner of the Jiser Med Consortium. This project is co-financed by the European Commission within the framework of the ERASMUS MUNDUS Programme. Its main objective is to consolidate the relations between the EU and the Mediterranean Area in the area of Higher Education.
As the project title indicates, JISER-MED wishes to act as bridge of bridges between Europe and its Mediterranean neighbours in the Higher Education and Research Area. JISER-MED is intended to contribute to the development of the Euro-Mediterranean Higher Education & Research Area in line with existing policy lines and declarations. The main objective of JISER-MED is to build on existing networks, projects and programmes created by the European Commission and to contribute to the consolidation of the initiatives generated within the Euromed Common Area of Higher Education & Research.
