The EPUF was invited to present its project to the Euromed Ministers, as the sole representative of civil society.
More than 150 rectors and representatives from Higher Education institutions coming from different Union for the Mediterranean countries supported the conclusions regarding the Cairo process and a statement. It will be submitted at the 2nd Euro-Mediterranean Ministerial Conference on Higher Education, Research and Innovation, which will be held in Slovenia October 2010.
A new list of recommendations was presented to the French Presidency of the EU. According to the principles of the Cairo Declaration, the EPUF underlined the significance of the convergence of higher education systems, especially in the field of quality.
A list of recommendations in higher education policies was presented to the Euromed ministers of Higher education and Research at the Euromed Ministerial Conference on Higher Education and Research held in Cairo, at which the EPUF was the only institution invited from civil society.
In 2005, the Presidents and Rectors of Mediterranean universities stated the need to create a EuroMed Higher Education and Research Area.
